Guidelines for submitting material to The Senior Paper

Stories should be about an event in your own life. We do not accept fictional stories, stories written in the third-person or articles clipped from other publications. Stories must not be longer than 700 words. Everyone who submits a story and/or old photograph will have their name entered in our draws for our story contests.

Browse through your old photo album to see if you might have a picture that relates to your story. If not, perhaps there’s another interesting old photo you may want to submit. Photographs must be of good quality to be reproduced.

Photographs must contain enough information for a “caption” to be printed under the picture – including (from left) the names of people in the picture, as well as where and when it was taken. Please print your information.

For copyright reasons, all stories submitted become the property of The Senior Paper and cannot be reprinted without our express permission.

The Senior Paper reserves the right to edit all stories and submissions, without exception. In some cases, only an excerpt may be used. Stories are considered for print on a first-come, first-served basis.

Submissions to The Senior Paper are not necessarily published in the next edition. Due to the large amount of stories received every month, we cannot guarantee when – or if – a submission will appear in print.
